Review of the bible!
This was sent to me last week…. It’s an absolutely hilarious review of the bible on Amazon! Classic stuff…
Predictable plot, but surprise ending, November 18, 2007
This seems to be one of those books people seem to either love or hate. But first with the good points. Impatient readers will be happy to see that the plot gets off with a bang: within the first few pages the apple has been eaten and evil is let into the world. We watch as the two main characters Adam and Eve have children and struggle with domestic violence, commencing in the murder of their son Abel by their other son Cain. However, God, a character with the power of omniscience, quickly discerns the culprit, ruining what could have been a great detective story. The first portion of the book, called the Old Testament, relies heavily on constantly shifting alliances between God and the human characters and intense action sequences to hold the reader’s attention. We see two cities get wiped off the map and even a global flood, as well as some epic but quickly glossed over battle sequences. Read the rest of this entry »
Maglite LED AA
I love Maglite’s – they are one of those timeless products, reliable, well made and pretty cool things to own. Everyone should have one…
Recently my original Maglite AA blew its bulb, and whilst ordering some new bulbs I noticed they had introduced an LED range so I decided to treat myself to an LED version as well as buying the bulbs.
How do they compare? The new one has added features which enable flashing but other than that they are the same – they look and feel exactly the same (apart from the LED aspect). My only complaint about the LED would be that it doesn’t focus as sharply as the original Maglite which in my view makes it less bright than the original Maglite.
Which would I choose?
There’s something about the original Maglite I prefer and given that it is $11.49 as opposed to the price of the new new LED Maglite
at $19.99 I’d have stuck with it … Saying that I’m happy I have both – you can’t have to many maglites!
Sony Playstation3 Slim
So – what’s new with the Sony PlayStation 3 Slim?
Obviously – it’s thinner (as you may have guessed from the name) than the original Playstaion3.
Other than that not much really. From what I can tell the performance is comparable, despite some minor changes to the guts of the thing, and it still suffers the backward compatibility issues with PS2 games.
Now for the good news – the price halved from $600 to $300 – which in itslef certaily makes the PlayStation 3 Slim worth further investigation!
Kodak Zi8
The new Kodak Zi8 pocket video camera is the replacement for the poplar Zi6. Okay, with such a camera as this you’re not exactly going to get TV quality let’s face it. But for the price of $179.95 it offers pretty good value.
Updated features on the new model include anti-shake to compensate for the wobble of your human hands, longer life lithium battery and an improve USB plug.
The camera is available in black, aqua and raspberry and also offers a 5 mega pixel still images option.
