Is TVI Express a scam?

The simple answer if you do a bit off digging is yes!

On a more serious note than usual. Having stumbled on a business card promoting the TVI scheme recently and having previously been asked by a friend to check out its credibility I thought I should warn people…

What claims do they make?

they claim it’s a legitimate travel business
that you can make $10,000 a week from recruiting others

What is it in reality?

It’s a classic pyramid sales scam, (A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, without any product or service being delivered. Pyramid schemes are a form of fraud – Wikipedia)

the ‘ business’ consists only of recruiting others
has been banned by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, with no doubt more to follow and their offices in London have been vacated and moved to India

Please be on your guard. I know times are hard for many, which makes it a perfect time for the unscrupulous to prey on hopes and dreams. Make no doubt these people will take your last penny off you. Don’t buy dreams – if it looks to good to be true, it probably is. We all know that – but sometimes even good people get caught out when times are tough.

This week I had an epiphany. After, well, as long as I can remember I finally hit on an idea that could do the three things I’ve always wanted from how I fill my time after, in many ways, having no direction in life since I was a kid. I can’t complain though, life has been good to me – I’ve never fallen into the wage slave mentality, I’ve done all sorts of things – some fun, some not, some lucrative, some not, and I’ve learned a hell of a lot from all of it…

So, I hit on this idea this week – of course I’m not going to mention it here, it’s far to good an idea to give away – that can give me everything I’ve ever wanted from my working life, and combine all the skills I’ve learned and love to use – photography, marketing and communications, some business and of course the Internet. And, even better, this idea will allow me to do some good in the world!

So, all I need right now is a generous benefactor, or some far sighted corporate sponsorship (or maybe a lottery win) to fund me…

Should anyone fitting into the above bracket be reading this, and want to get themselves some major publicity (this is the sort of thing that will get me an invite onto Oprah) send me an email and lets talk. Though, somehow I expect we’ll be waiting for that lottery win to provide the finance…

So finally the skies are open!

It’s been a strange week. Living as we do on a holiday island ’somewhere in the Atlantic’, this week has been strange with the effects of the eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland. Who would have thought that this would have caused more chaos in air travel than 911, and have such far reaching knock-on effects many thousands of miles away.

Many of our neighbour (as others across Europe and beyond) have had their businesses hurt badly as an after effect. It’s not just the airlines financially affected.

Our island depends heavily on tourism and since the skies were closed the tourists on the island have in many cases spent their budgets and been unable to get home. This to the businesses means a week of little or no tourism revenue – due to the fact the ‘new money’ for the week has not arrived. And, who knows how long it will take to get back to normal.

And, lets not forget those people on vacation – missing, work, out of funds, in some cases over-charged for accommodation they weren’t expecting to have to pay for. A bad week for so many in the struggling economies of Europe…

Water versus Coke

Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as 3%.
One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
Lack of water, the number 1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

COKE

In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the ‘real thing’ sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminium foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminium foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

Did you know?

The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.
To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a hazardous material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years!

It’s time the priests faced prosecution for what they have done…

It’s no big secret at the moment that the Catholic Church has major problems! The behaviour of some of their priests throughout the US and Europe is reprehensible. There is never any excuse to abuse children, and an institution that harbours paedophiles in our eyes share the responsibility for the actions of the individual if it allows this behaviour, and equally as bad – hides it.

Perhaps this pope needs to step down and for the church itself to hand over all it knows to law enforcement throughout the world so that the guilty can finally face criminal prosecution!

On a lighter note we spotted this article on Times Online from the UK – written by a rather unfortunately named journalist – for this piece anyway – a “Roger Boyes”…
