I’ve seen this movie a couple of times. In many ways it’s actually a great film – and if Nelson Mandela is even half the man he is portrayed as in the film – how could anyone fail to be in awe of what a truly great man he is – one of the 20th centuries greatest I’d say.

The film look good, the script is well written, and the acting from Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon is as good as you’d expect. Matt Damon especially has the South African accent licked! As someone who happens to know a little about rugby, it’s great to see a man’s sport being introduced to the American public – no pseudo armour in this sport! Read the rest of this entry »

Ever since seeing her in My Cousin Vinny back in 1992 as the sexy, smart Italian girlfriend of Joe Pesci I’ve had a bit of a thing for Marisa Tomei! Perhaps her Brooklyn origins make the part seem as though it was made for her… Okay, she’s getting a bit older now and not all the recent pictures we found were all that flattering – but she’s still pretty easy on the eye, and has plenty of sex appeal! And acting wise, she was fantastic in The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke…

Last night I sat and watched 2012. What a waste of an evening – some nice effects, but that’s about all it has going for it. Other than that, it’s cheesy story-lines, lame acting and pretty much totally unbelievable in terms of the science behind it. Essentially it’s nothing more than a kids movie… I haven’t seen anything quite so ridiculous since Independence Day (except perhaps for Transformers) – but at least the President died in 2012 and didn’t go on to save the world. I hope I haven’t spoiled it for anyone by giving that part of the story. I can’t imagine I have – because there’s not much to spoil. This has to be the worst film of the year…

I have only one word of advice for anyone planning to watch the movie in the near future – Don’t!

I know Chinese and Asian women aren’t to every mans taste. But I´ve had a real thing for Chinese girls since I had a Chinese girlfriend a few years ago. She was smart, pretty, and although reserved culturally at times – but was damned hot when she wanted to be!

Lucy Liu is a fine example of what a Chinese woman can be too – smart, and beautiful. And, to be fair, she’s done some pretty good movies too. I loved her in Lucky Number Slevin (which is a great movie). Though I would have to say I didn’t think Charlie’s Angles was the best of choice’s for her. Having said that Charlie’s Angels wasn’t a great choice of film for anyone to do – it was garbage!

To my mind though Lucy Liu is arguably one of the hottest Chinese women in the world… Read the rest of this entry »
